This week brought a welcome shift—northeast winds and cooler mornings have us feeling those early fall patterns kicking in. Water clarity is excellent across East Bay, and the bite is spreading out in a good way.
We’ve been working grass shorelines with solid current and nervous shrimp in the area. That combo has produced a nice mix of trout, redfish, and a few flounder, especially on the incoming tide.
🎯 Productive Areas
Grass lines with bait movement
Shell beds and rocky intracoastal structure
Reefs with birds sitting = fish nearby
🧰 Lure Report
Imitation shrimp under popping corks (1-ft leader)
1/16 oz jig heads with WacAttack or Deadly Dudley tails
Add a Fish Bite strip for scent—especially for redfish
Fish slow and deliberate—up in the grass and across structure
🐦 Birds Are Back
If you’re into bird chasing, now’s the time. We’re seeing more birds working, and while there are still some small trout in the mix, there are also better fish showing up under the flocks.
