Another week of shallow water action—and the redfish bite hasn’t slowed a bit.
We’ve been staying tight to the grass lines, and if your cast isn’t right up on the edge, you’re missing fish. Both morning and afternoon trips have produced consistent reds, and this week we also started seeing a few quality flounder sliding into the mix.
🎯 Key Zones for Action
- Grass edges with points, indentations, or drains
- Water depth: 12″ to 24″
- Look for active bait—no signs of life, move on
🧰 What’s Working
- Fish Smack popping corks with imitation shrimp or tails
- 1-ft leader for maximum strikes
- Weightless Rat Tails (Deadly Dudley) and WacAttack Flukes
- 1/8 oz jigheads over shell for deeper trout
🐟 Still Some Trout Around
We’re still managing keeper trout over shell in 3–4 ft and on the mid-bay reefs, but there’s no way around it—you’ll need to sift through smaller fish to find the right ones.
