Fall is showing its hand, and the fishing is responding. With cooler evenings and strong tides this past week, we’ve seen a steady uptick in activity across East Bay.

Water clarity varied depending on location, with areas east of Triple Cut being more stained. But no matter where we fished, the key to success remained the same: find the current and the bait, and you’ll find fish.

Bite Report

We targeted:

  • Offshore reefs with limited success
  • Grass shorelines and marsh edges for redfish
  • Shallow flats near pinch points for a mix of trout and reds

We had to work through smaller fish, especially with trout, but steady bites kept rods bent and spirits high.

Lures That Worked

  • Imitation shrimp under popping corks with 12–15” leaders
  • 1/8 oz jig heads paired with:
    • WacAttack tails
    • Deadly Dudley soft plastics
    • Fishbites in lighter colors

Work it slow, stay in the current, and make sure you’re seeing bait—especially nervous shrimp flicking on the surface.

Fall Action Is Picking Up

Water temps are dropping and the fish are moving. Now’s the time to book a fall trip with light crowds, active tides, and cooler mornings.
