Cool Mornings, Rising Water & Fall Reds on the Move

With northeast winds and cooler mornings, our early rides across East Bay have been feeling downright nice. Water clarity remains solid, and higher tides this week had us pushing shallow around grasslines—and the redfish were there waiting.

🔥 Productive Patterns

We’ve been targeting:

  • Grass shorelines with nervous bait and moving water
  • Pinch points, drains, and indentations near grass lines
  • Rocky structure in the Intracoastal during windier periods
  • Birds over reefs—if they’re sitting, fish are close

Redfish are the main headline, but we’re still picking up flounder in the same areas.

🧰 Tackle Talk

  • Fishbites Paddle Tails in Haymaker color on 1/8 oz jig heads
  • Fished under Fish Smack popping corks with a short 1-ft leader
  • WacAttack & Deadly Dudley tails on 1/16 oz heads
  • Imitation shrimp are still productive, but Fishbites tails stole the show this week

Present slow. Work it into the grass. Most bites are coming shallow near movement and structure.

🐦 Birds Are a Bonus

Bird activity is increasing, and some flocks have keeper trout mixed in. If you find birds sitting over open water reefs, ease in and start casting—don’t let those spots go untouched.

🍂 Now’s the Time to Fish

With thinning crowds and falling water temps, fishing is only getting better. This is prime time to bring your crew, get on the water, and make some memories.
